MAINTENANCE SERVICE WORKER
 

Bethany Manor seeks a full-time Maintenance Service Worker. Team-focused applicants must enjoy older adults and be committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in a multi-building complex.

The Maintenance Service Worker reports to the Maintenance Manager.
 
Work Setting: Housing complex with apartments and townhouses in an urban setting.
 
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Assist with resident suite transitions by refurbishing suites (patching, painting, installation of countertops, toilets, faucets, flooring prep, etc.)
-Inspections and maintenance of the buildings’ HVAC systems
-Ensure efficient operation of all buildings’ systems (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
-General property and building envelope maintenance tasks
-Scheduled maintenance and minor repairs in commercial kitchen
-Keeping maintenance records
-Property landscaping, seasonal maintenance of sidewalks, snow & ice removal
-General repairs to resident suites as requested (i.e. leaking faucets, plugged toilet, heat adjustment, etc.)
-Small appliance repairs (vacuums, electric motors, pumps, etc.)
-Operate and maintain power and hand tools, lawn and snow maintenance equipment
-Participation in maintenance team planning

Education and Experience:
-Completed at least some secondary school
-Previous experience in maintaining efficient and reliable building operations and routine maintenance of mechanical systems is an asset

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.)
-Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System 2015 (WHMIS 2015) Certificate
 
The successful candidate will:

-possess the ability to recommend corrective action and implement required repairs

RESIDENT SERVICES CARE SUPERVISOR


Bethany Manor, a non-profit Christian seniors’ housing organization is seeking a full-time Resident Care Services Supervisor.
 
Team-focused applicants must enjoy working with seniors and be committed to providing a safe and healthy environment and quality care for seniors in Saskatoon.

The Resident Care Services Supervisor will be scheduled to work mostly 12-hour shifts and will be working closely with the Resident Services Manager within our Personal Care and Assisted Living areas.
 
Regular shift duties could include:
-Working with residents
-Assistance with the essential activities of daily living
-Medication administration and charting
-Record keeping
-Housekeeping/laundry
-Serving meals
-Purchasing
 
Desired Skills and Qualities:

-Effective communicator, excellent oral and written English skills
-Maintain confidentiality
-Efficient and detail oriented
-Patient and compassionate
-Able to work both in a team as well as independently
-Have a good understanding of the Personal Care sector
 
Education/Experience:
-Grade 12
-Must have minimum of three years’ experience working in senior care.
 
Wage:

This position may include shifts, weekends, and some emergency on-call duties.
 
Completion of a criminal background check with the vulnerable sector check is mandatory.
 
Completion of a two-day Personal Care Home Worker Course, Standard First Aid & CPR certification and Food Safety is required (all may be completed within the first month of employment).
