We are currently recruiting for the following two positions:

MAINTENANCE SERVICE WORKER

Bethany Manor seeks a full-time Maintenance Service Worker. Team-focused applicants must enjoy older adults and be committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in a multi-building complex. The Maintenance Service Worker reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Work Setting: Housing complex with apartments and townhouses in an urban setting.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist with resident suite transitions by refurbishing suites (patching, painting, installation of countertops, toilets, faucets, flooring prep, etc.)
  • Inspections and maintenance of the buildings’ HVAC systems
  • Ensure efficient operation of all buildings’ systems (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • General property and building envelope maintenance tasks
  • Scheduled maintenance and minor repairs in commercial kitchen
  • Keeping maintenance records
  • Property landscaping, seasonal maintenance of sidewalks, snow & ice removal
  • General repairs to resident suites as requested (i.e. leaking faucets, plugged toilet, heat adjustment, etc.)
  • Small appliance repairs (vacuums, electric motors, pumps, etc.)
  • Operate and maintain power and hand tools, lawn and snow maintenance equipment
  • Participation in maintenance team planning
     
Education and Experience:
  • Completed at least some secondary school
  • Previous experience in maintaining efficient and reliable building operations and routine maintenance of mechanical systems is an asset

    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System 2015 (WHMIS 2015) Certificate
The successful candidate will:

RESIDENT AIDE

Bethany Manor seeks a full-time Resident Aide to join our team. Applicants must enjoy working with seniors and be committed to providing a safe and healthy environment and quality care for our residents.

The full-time Resident Aide will be required to work some night shifts.

Regular duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Working with residents
  • Assistance with the essential activities of daily living
  • Medication administration and charting
  • Record keeping
  • Cleaning and laundry services
  • Serving meals to residents

The selected candidate will be required to submit a criminal record check with the vulnerable sector check prior to commencement of employment. 

The selected candidate will also be required to complete a two-day Personal Care Home Worker Course, Standard First Aid & CPR certificateion, Food Safety training and WHMIS 2015, within the first month of employment.
